Which steamer is right for my needs?
Note: All the following information is based on years of experience of our customers and is therefore not binding nor does it correspond to a standard.
Areas of application J-2000 ( plastic nozzle/ J-2000M ( M= metal nozzle with wooden handle)/ J-2000i (multifunctional nozzles) / J-2/ J-2M ( predecessor model of the J-2000)
The steamer is used occasionally or sometimes for many hours a day.
If you need the steamer for e.g. photo or film production while travelling, of course it is also perfectly suitable for studio productions.
If you want to work with it in a boutique or in a department of a department store or fashion shop.
If you decorate shop windows or work as an interior designer.
If you want to go to a trade fair or present new goods in a showroom.
In a dressing room e.g. in a hotel or theatre for costumes, dresses, wedding gowns.
If the steamer is used for several hours, it should be allowed to cool down briefly (e.g. while you are refilling the water).
The steamer must be decalcified regularly with tap water if it is used heavily.

Areas of application Jiffy Steamer J-4000 / J-4000M
In the mail order or wholesale trade or returns department, in use for many hours every day.
Tent rental companies or event organisers as well as hotels and large film and photo production companies.
Large mail order clothing companies often use the J-4000/J-4000M.
Jiffy Esteam, the handheld steamer
The Esteam is small, light and handy.
The Esteam is well suited for quick use at home, e.g. to remove creases from a jacket or trousers.
The steam time is approx. 15 min. per water filling. However, this is sufficient to steam a suit plus shirt, for example.
In the textile trade, the Esteam is used to brighten up clothes that have been tried on.
The advantage here is that it is small and handy and can be used directly on site.
Thanks to its unique design, the Jiffy Esteam is easy to clean and descale.
The multifunction steamer J-2000i/ J-4000i/ J-2i

The multifunctional steamers are equipped with four different nozzles:
The short metal nozzle for clothing, tableclothsThe long metal nozzle for cleaning mattresses, carpets, curtains.
The metal long nozzle is well suited for upholstered furniture, e.g. to remove odours in the crevices between the seats and back cushions.
It can also be used to clean hard-to-reach areas on elaborate garments.
As an attachment for the metal long nozzle, there is also the cleaning brush, which can be used to remove dirt from smooth surfaces.
Conclusion: The multifunctional steamer is ideal for the household, but also for decorators, hotels, tailors, designers, etc.
J-1 Hutsteamer / J-4000H/ J-2000W/ J-4000W
The Jiffy Steamer J-1H Hutsteamer or the J-4000H are ideally suited for shaping hats and headgear.
For those who have used the Riefenstahl hat steamer, the J-1 hat steamer or the J-4000H is also very suitable.
For those who are more involved in hair replacement and wigs, the Jiffy Steamer models J-2000W ( small workshops), J-4000W (large workshops) , J-2W ( small workshops) are best suited.
Distilled water can be used, this will delay but not prevent calcification.
Advantages and disadvantages of the J-2000 in contrast to J-4000 models
Jiffy Steamer J-2000/ J-2000M, J-2000i/ J-2000W/ J-2/ J-2M/ J-2i
External water tank (better overview if there is still water in the tank)
Easy to fill water tank, as it is removable.
Fast heating time of approx. 1-2 min.
Unit is lighter than J-4000 (J-2000 = 7,8 kg/ J-4000 = 11kg)

Distilled water should be used if the steamer is used regularly on a daily basis.

Disadvantages J-2000:
Steam time per water tank filling is somewhat shorter than with the J-4000 at approx. 1.5 hrs.
The unit calcifies more quickly when used heavily with tap water (but this can be delayed by following our care instructions in the Tips & Tricks section).
In extreme cases, i.e. with very heavy use with tap water and without care/ cleaning/ decalcification, the service life of Jiffy Steamer products is also limited. (As is always the case with appliances that heat water electrically, e.g. coffee machines and the like).
With normal use, the appliance will of course last much longer.
With regular cleaning / descaling and the use of distilled water, the appliance will also perform well for many years.
Advantages Jiffy Steamer J-4000
The J-4000 has a longer steaming time than the J-2000 because it can hold more water in the tank. (Approx.2 hours)
Since the J-4000 does not have a boiler like the J-2000, but a heating coil (similar to a washing machine), it also calcifies more slowly.
The J-4000 has a so-called preheat switch, which means that the unit always keeps the temperature at a certain level, so that the unit can be used again quickly after a steam break and the water does not always have to be completely reheated.
The J-4000 can be filled with water during steaming, but the water must first be brought back to steam temperature. (Attention, parts of the steamer can be hot).
Distilled water can be used, which delays but does not prevent calcification.
The unit is heavier and does not tip over when used in a robust manner (e.g. when handling large quantities of fabric, e.g. curtains, upholstery or other industrial or commercial operations).
The life span of the J-4000 can be up to 10 years (depending on use).
Disadvantages J-4000
Water level can only be checked through a small side window on the unit.
The water tank can only be filled by means of a funnel and canister on the unit itself.
The J-4000 is difficult to decalcify (but hardly necessary).
Conclusion:
For occasional use and more mobility, the models of the J-2000 series and the J-2 series are very suitable.
For continuous daily use in fixed locations, the Jiffy Steamer J-4000 series (plastic, metal, i-multi-nozzles, DM-curtain metal nozzle, D-curtain plastic nozzle, Di-multi-nozzles curtains) are well suited.
